French a Go-Go

Lyrics to Les Petits Boudins :
Dans mon agenda
Quand j'en pique un
Un petit boudin
Je l'met sous mon bras
Jusqu'au matin
Ce petit boudin

C'est bon pour c'que j'ai
a me fait du bien
Les petits boudins
C'est facile et a
N'engage rien
Les petits boudins

Au dpart c'est rien
Qu'une petite gourde
Un petit boudin
Il suffit d'un rien
Et a devient
Un petit boudin

a n'sait pas dire non
C'est a qu'j'aime bien
Chez les p'tits boudins
a n'pose pas d'questions
a n'mange pas d'pain
Les petits boudins

Mais il n'y a pas dans mon calepin
Que des p'tits boudins
Il y a surtout toi, toi qui n'as rien
D'un petit boudin
T'as rien de commun
Avec les petits boudins

Point of gnome return

A French police station has been stuck with a room of homeless garden gnomes after a "gnome return day" - a fresh bid to trace their owners - failed. Only a trickle of people showed up for yesterday's "gnome return day" at the police station in Saint-Die-des-Vosges, near the eastern city of Strasbourg, and only one person was reunited with their stolen gnome, police said.

Some 75 kidnapped gnomes were recovered in 2001 after a group called the Garden Gnome Liberation Front released them, leaving them on the steps of the Saint-Die-des-Vosges cathedral. Police are yet to reunite 43 of the gnomes with their owners.

"In wanting to set them free, the Liberation Front has virtually imprisoned them," policeman Sylvain Brucker said, adding that the local prosecutor could decide to sell the kitsch garden ornaments in a police auction. "Perhaps there are people with gardens who would like to adopt them," he said.

Laura Bush flees to France, plans to marry Chirac

Paris First Lady Laura Bush has escaped from the US and plans to marry French President Jacques Chirac, whom she has stayed in contact with via email since their first meeting two years ago. Her planned five-day trip to Paris and Moscow became an appealing opportunity to start a new life after months of growing discontent with American policy, a source said. "I love French food and French wine, and of course, Jacques is an amazing lover," said Bush.

French government's continued belief in "global warming" under fire for heat wave deaths

PARIS Controversy over Frances stubborn belief in the existence of global warming grew today as a high-ranking deputy admitted that excessive heat and the deaths caused by it could have been avoided if the French government didnt cling to unscientific hoaxes regarding the weather.

Christian Estrosi of the ruling UMP party blamed the heat wave crisis on phony experts around the world who promote global warming on Friday. Its not our citizens fault that the unproven idea of global warming is being forced on them by so-called scientists, Estrosi said after the French health ministry reported that up to 3,000 have died in recent weeks in France as a result of the heat.

U.S. officials at the Environmental Protection Agency sided with Estrosis position, and claimed that the reason you dont see these kind of heat-related emergencies in the U.S. is due to our official position that global warming needs more research. Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin has come under increased criticism for failure to act quickly to deal with the catastrophe. Critics have charged that he should have renounced global warming once it was clear that France was engulfed in a crisis.
